Reading

This summer I finally took some time to actually read for fun! I haven't read for fun in quite some time. Most of my reading material is professional literature or books for students. I believe in growing and expanding myself. I think taking time this summer to read for enjoyment just for me has made a greater impact than any book study that I could have been a part of this summer. I forgot how much fun reading is. It's amazingly addictive and I absolutely could not wait to talk with someone else who had read the same book. I think I will be better this school year about spreading my addiction for reading to my students now that I have opened myself back up to the experience. I want my students to feel like I felt when I closed the book and when I found someone to talk to about it. Don't you think it's bettter to practice what you teach rather than just teach it?
